JOOD Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JOOD collects, uses, stores, processes, shares, and deletes information when you use the JOOD mobile application and related services.

JOOD is developed and operated by Sajjad Majeed, an independent developer based in Iraq.

Please do not submit information that you do not want processed by JOOD or its service providers. AI responses may contain mistakes, so important information should always be independently verified.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

When you create or use a JOOD account, we may collect or process:

Your name
Your email address
Your authentication account identifier
Your selected language and Arabic dialect
Your selected JOOD personalities or communication preferences
Your profile image, when you choose to add one

1.2 Conversations and AI requests

When you use JOOD's AI features, we may process:

Messages, prompts, and instructions you submit
AI-generated replies and other generated content
Conversation history and conversation identifiers
Information saved through JOOD's memory features
Prompts submitted for image generation

1.3 Images, files, camera, and voice input

When you choose to use these features, JOOD may process:

Images selected from your device
Images captured using your camera
Documents and other files you upload
Voice input and speech converted into text
File names, file types, sizes, and local attachment paths

JOOD does not intentionally access your camera, microphone, photos, or files unless you initiate the relevant feature and grant the required device permission.

1.4 Device and technical information

We may collect limited technical information needed to operate, protect, and troubleshoot JOOD, including:

Device platform and operating system
App version
Authentication status
Error, diagnostic, and performance information
Feature usage and usage-limit information
Notification and haptic preferences
Security and abuse-prevention information

1.5 Advertising information

JOOD may display advertisements through Google AdMob, including banner, interstitial, native, or rewarded advertisements.

Advertising providers may process information such as advertising identifiers, device information, IP-derived approximate location, ad impressions, ad interactions, fraud signals, and consent choices in accordance with their own privacy practices.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

Create, authenticate, and manage JOOD accounts
Provide AI-generated chat responses
Generate images and other requested content
Analyze uploaded images and files
Convert voice input into text
Save and display conversation history
Provide memory and personalization features
Use your selected language and dialect throughout the app
Maintain free-usage limits, rewards, and premium access
Display and measure advertisements
Provide support and respond to requests
Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats
Diagnose errors and improve performance and reliability
Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing

JOOD uses third-party artificial intelligence services to process prompts and generate responses, images, and other content.

Information you submit to an AI feature may be transmitted to the relevant AI provider so the requested output can be produced.

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, offensive, or unsuitable for your circumstances. JOOD is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying important information before relying on it.

4. Service Providers

JOOD uses service providers to operate the application and deliver its features.

4.1 Supabase

Supabase is used for authentication and account-related infrastructure.

4.2 Railway

Railway is used to host JOOD's backend services and related infrastructure.

4.3 OpenAI

OpenAI services may be used to process conversations, prompts, images, files, and image-generation requests.

4.4 Google AdMob

Google AdMob may be used to deliver and measure advertisements, including rewarded advertisements.

These service providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.

We share information with service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate JOOD, provide a feature you requested, protect JOOD and its users, or comply with legal obligations.

5. Local Device Storage

Some JOOD information may be stored locally on your device, including:

Chats and messages
Attachment references or cached files
Profile-image information
Language, dialect, and personality choices
Notification and haptic preferences
Other app preferences and cached information

Removing the app may remove locally stored information, depending on your device and operating-system behavior.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose information:

To service providers that help operate JOOD
When you direct JOOD to process or share particular content
To comply with applicable law or a valid legal request
To investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
To protect the rights, safety, or property of JOOD or others
In connection with a lawful business transfer or reorganization

7. Advertising and Consent

Free users may see advertisements. Watching a rewarded advertisement may provide temporary access to additional messages, image generations, or other features.

Where required by applicable law or platform policy, JOOD will request consent before serving personalized advertising or using certain advertising technologies.

You may be able to adjust advertising choices through JOOD, your device settings, or the consent controls provided by the advertising provider.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

Provide and maintain JOOD
Maintain your account and requested features
Preserve conversation history and memories you choose to save
Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
Resolve disputes and provide support
Meet legal, security, accounting, or regulatory obligations

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the feature involved, security requirements, and applicable law.

Information that has been irreversibly anonymized and can no longer reasonably be linked to you may be retained for analytics, security, and service-improvement purposes.

9. Account and Data Deletion

You may permanently delete your JOOD account from inside the app:

Open JOOD.
Open your profile.
Select Delete Account.
Review the warning and confirm deletion.

When account deletion is completed, JOOD is designed to delete:

Your JOOD account
Your authentication account
Account-associated backend records under JOOD's control
Locally stored chats and messages associated with that account
Saved profile information and relevant local preferences

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Limited information may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or enforcement of legal rights. Where such retention applies, the retained information will be limited to what is reasonably necessary.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission, mobile device, database, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

Access information associated with your account
Correct inaccurate account information
Request deletion of your account and associated information
Withdraw certain permissions or consent choices
Disable notifications through the app or device settings
Object to or restrict certain processing
Submit a privacy complaint or request

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain privacy requests.

12. Children's Privacy

JOOD is not directed to children below the minimum age required to independently consent to personal-data processing under applicable law.

A child should use JOOD only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.

If we learn that personal information was collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

13. International Data Processing

JOOD is operated from Iraq and uses service providers that may process information in other countries.

Those countries may have privacy and data-protection laws different from the laws in your country. Information may therefore be transferred to and processed in locations where JOOD or its service providers operate, subject to applicable legal protections.

14. Third-Party Content and Links

JOOD may display links or content provided by third parties. JOOD is not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third-party services.

You should review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing information to them.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when JOOD's features, service providers, data practices, or legal obligations change.

The updated policy will include a new effective date or version number. When changes are significant, JOOD may provide an in-app notice or request renewed acknowledgement.
